Kansas City, MO

Bring a laptop, bring a friend or co-worker, and by all means bring whatever you’re working on. We all come from different development backgrounds but historically this group plays well together. We help solve challenges (code and otherwise) and often wander into the latest tech news conversations as well.

What is Monday Geek Night? It is a weekly Monday night gathering of geeks who enjoy topics including, but not limited to, application and web development (code of all kinds), entrepreneurship, gaming, marketing, design, movies, the current state of all things tech, and usually beer and other cocktails.

*A note for our tech recruiter friends: We get calls all day long from people trying to hire us away. Please respect the fact that we come to geek night to talk shop and geek out. You’re welcome to do the same, but if you think you’re going to recruit some devs, please look elsewhere.

The Art of Interviewing Workshop

Location:
Central Resource Library
Carmack Community Room
9875 W. 87th St.
Overland Park, KS
Google Map

Free to attend.

Time: 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm

Interviewing is not like riding a bike. Just because you’ve interviewed in the past, doesn’t mean you’ll do well at the next interview. Lack of practice oftentimes leads to a sub-par interview. In today’s highly competitive job market, the pool of eligible and highly qualified candidates applying for a job is at all-time highs. What separates those who land the job from the ones who only get a first interview are not only the skills one brings to the table, but more importantly, how effectively one communicates that he or she is THE best person for the job.

Join professional development consultant Efren Mojica, of “All About You Consulting,” as he educates on the entire interview process: pre-interview, interview and post-interview. The goal is to better enable attendees to take advantage of a precious interview opportunity and gain insight into the finer points of interviewing.

Are you generating buzz, attracting and retaining customers, making sales through your use of social media? Which platforms are performing best for your business?

Do you know what your current and potential customers are thinking? Right now? This very minute? About your products, services, your employees? And by the way, how does this same group of people feel about your competitors?

If you don’t know the answers to these questions, or don’t know much about the tools that can help you find the answers, then this workshop is for you.
